Church of St Castullus

Church of St Castullus (also known  as Church of Saint Castulus) is one of the finest Gothic buildings in Prague. The church was built in the late 1300s as a small Romanic church. It burned down on 21 June 1689, as both the Old and the New towns were struck by a tragic, revolting case of arson. Fortunately beautiful slender pillars supporting a delicate ribbed vault, survived fire. Inside you can see wall paintings, religious statues and a sacristy, Baroque furnishings and a decorated metal font.

Location: Haštalské náměstí (Hastal Square)
