House at the Golden Ring
- 6-2-2009
- Categorized in: Attractions/What to See
The spectacular space of the medieval Golden Ring House hosts a permanent exhibition of Czech art of the 20th century with particular emphasis on the Czech passion for surrealism and just plain oddness. Divided into three thematic parts, the exhibition will introduce you to big names of the Czech art scene, such as Toyen, Josef Šíma, Karel Malich (creepy wire sculpture), Emil Filla (A Bird Above), Jan Zrzavý (Bleak Slagheaps in the Evening) or Jiří Kolář. The temporary exhibitions offer a comprehensive profile of a particular artist or focus on various art trends and schools on a systematic basis. There is also a nice café.
