Listing of Recommended Asian Restaurants in Prague
- 12-29-2008
- Categorized in: Asian Restaurants
China Fusion
It is not just another average Chinese restaurant. This quiet, upscale hideaway occupies a room above the crowded Světozor passage off Vodičkova, but it might as well be another world. In fact, with understated décor and bold Canton-and Szechwan-based creations intertwined creatively with foreign tastes, China Fusion is in another world.
Address: Vodičkova 41, New Town (inside pasáž Světozor), website
Tel.: 224 946 268
Open daily 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Rated: Expensive
Hanil
Korean and Japanese favourites share space on the menu at this popular Žižkov spot. Sample the usual variety of sushi and sashimi, then move on to a spicy bibimbap — or stray from tried and true into thin-sliced beef, pork belly or other Asian traditions. Service is friendly and smart; the restaurant itself, very nice.
Address: Slavíkova 24, Prague 3–Žižkov
Tel.: 222 715 867
Open Mon.–Sat. 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.-11 p.m.; Sun. 5:30 p.m.-11 P.M.
Rated: Expensive
Sushi Bar
For Prague, a standout sushi spot — and it's been around since 1999, making a case for long-term quality. Unembellished maki and nigiri allow flavours of fresh fish to come forward. Your eyes will catch interesting presentation, doting service and a coveted location. The owners also operate a seafood shop next door, ensuring a good product.
Address: Zborovská 49, Prague 5–Malá Strana, website
Tel.: 603 244 882
Open daily noon-10 p.m.
Rated: Expensive
Lemon Leaf
A longstanding favorite that has become an institution of sorts among tourists, expats and locals alike. Popular for its well-priced and reliable Thai food, including a good Pad Thai, as well as a successful mix of Continental dishes. Weekend brunches pack out in this bright, buzzing spot.
Address: Myslíkova 14, Prague 2-New Town; website
SaSaZu
SaSaZu continues its reign as the top upmarket Asian restaurant in Prague (opend in 2009). Chef Shahaf Shabtay has traveled the world, and it shows on his menu, which includes flavors and dishes from India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and other exotic locales in Southeast Asia. Prices for individual entrees are not outrageous.
Address: Myslíkova 14, Prague 2-New Town; website
NOI
NOI brings serenity and authentic Thai food to the city of Prague. The staff and Zen interior are also impeccable as is the food which includes such dishes as tom yam koong and khao pad kai.
Address: Praha 1, Ujezd 19; website
Yam Tam Thai Food and Café
If you are still in the market for Thai food, but either need something in a hurry or are looking for something less fancy than NOI, then head over to Yam Yam. The food here is tasty, but both the menu and the restaurant are small. However, dig into the Nu Rad Prig or spring rolls for some authentic and good Thai food.
Address: Praha 4, Vysehrad 1670; website
