Nelahozeves
- 7-17-2009
- Categorized in: Nelahozeves Castle
The oldest surviving written document of Nelahozeves's existence dates back to 1352. The village has a three-winged Renaissance château of the Italian castello type, with arcades in the yard and grafitti, and is owned by the knightly family Lobkowicz. Nelahozeves is the birthplace of composer Antonín Dvořák. His birth house now harbours the exhibition of his life and work. The château is a popular wedding place and day trip destination too.

The Lobkowicz family chateau houses the new permanent exhibition Private Spaces: A Noble Faily at Home illustrating in intimate detail how an ancient and influential noble family lived day-to-day in one of their principal castles in the countryside.

Location: Nelahozeves Castle, 277 51 Nelahozeves (Nelahozeves is situated very close to Prague, about 40 minutes' drive.)
Opening hours: daily except Mondays, 9am - 5pm
Admission: 200 CZK, 15% discount with Prague Card
