Overpriced retaurant

Having just returned from my second visit to Prague after a gap of five years I was somewhat surprised by the way city centre prices have increased to match the rest of Europe. It is still a great place to visit and our hotel, Hotel Rott, was superb. However, I would like to alert you to the high pressure selling taking place at the '7 Angels Restaurant.' We knew the prices of the food were expensive when we made a reservation but the ambiance and hence the evening was ruined by being greeted with a waiter attempting to sell an aperitif of Vodka or champagne at a ridiculously inflated price, water was charged at £6.50 a bottle, canapés that were 'given' were then charged for, a bottle of the cheapest wine finished costing over £40 a bottle and a cover charge of £2 a head for a plate of stale bread that was not refilled when empty. Of course a 10% gratuity for service was demanded making you feel like a cheapskate as you were shown the door seemed part of the ritual. Tourists beware the 7 Angels!!!

Went there when the country was still Czechoslovakia.
Love 'Prague Spring', love the people, love the architecture, the efficiency of the transport system, love the food.
Got robbed of my video camera in 1999, did not put me off. (Got mugged in Blighty a few years ago!) Life's a b*tch sometimes. Someone I know got shot at in America, people still go there...and oh the attitude of shop assistants and bar staff in USA is downright obnoxious.
Read on other posts about stick to MickyD etc!!! These sort of people should stay at home with their 'mom & apple pie'.
Based upon that these sort of people should not venture to places like Odesa or Kiev etc, they will spend the whole time in their room crying!
What has happened to the 'adventure spirit', disappeared into the exploitative 'non indiginous peoples' supporting all-inclusive concrete monoliths that destroy a country's culture, costline and create more envy and hate amongst the locals that the odd tourist being ripped off.
Prague has the best beer in the world.
