Pensions (Bed & Breakfasts, Guest Houses)
Boarding houses, or bed and breakfasts (B&Bs), have smaller capacity than hotels, don't usually have restaurants i.e. and generally there is no 24hr reception. We also categorize pensions and guest houses under B&Bs, as in Prague there is very little difference between them except that some of them do not provide breakfast. They are usually run by the owner of the house (usually a family), so you can feel more like you are at home, or at least in a friendlier atmosphere. B&Bs can be very elegantly furnished with good facilities, and are more affordable than most hotels. One disadvantage is that you will definitely get less privacy. B&B prices and facilities differ between establishments, but normally much cheaper than a hotel and facilities are usually basic. They are often popular among drivers, as most, if not all, are located outside the city centre.
