Wallenstein Palace Gardens
This huge, walled baroque garden is situated behind the Wallenstein Palace. The garden is dominated by an imposing sala terrena; also worth seeing are an artificial grotto with stalactites and stalagmites, a fountain with a bronze statue of Venus and a gallery of bronze statues by Adrian de Vries. These are, however, only castings of the original ones which were taken away by the Swedish army at the end of the Thirty Years War. In the summer months concerts and theatre performances are held here. At the eastern end of the garden is the Wallenstein Riding School, home to changing exhibitions of modem art and a picturesque pond full of giant carp.
