Detenice Castle
Detenice is a popular day-trip destination for its Baroque chateau and medieval tavern. This small town is located just 68km north-east of Prague, a one-hour drive away. Detenice can be easily visited with some organised guided tours.
In Detenice chateau, the most remarkable sights are preserved Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque frescoes, including wall paintings and collections of pictures and weapons. There is also a collection of wonderful furniture.

At first sight this castle's most striking features are its brilliant red façade and the refined beauty of its late Baroque architecture. The castle is also home to a unique collection of weapons from the Thirty Years War belonging to the Maltese knights. Visitors will also be captivated by the splendid interiors.
