Nelahozeves Castle
This beautifully furnished Renaissance castle, owned by the Lobkowicz family, houses a world-renowned art collection (Brueghel, Cranach the Elder, Rubens, Velazquez, etc), as well as a unique collection of musical memorabilia (manuscripts, instruments) and Delft porcelain. The beautiful sgraffito on the walls of the Nelahozeves Castle is one of the largest collections of Spanish portraiture from the 16th and 17th centuries outside of Spain. An exceptional restaurant serving very tasteful dishes and wines from the nearby Lobkowicz wineries, and a stylish gift shop, are worth visiting after the castle tour. While there you can also visit the nearby birthplace of the famous Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák. The castle is situated on a hill, north of Prague and not far from Kralupy nad Vltavou.
By rail: from Prague Masaryk Railway Station to Nelahozeves.
Distance: approx. 22 miles (half-day trip; possible to combine with Terezin).
