Spindleruv Mlyn
Špindlerův Mlýn is the most popular ski destination in the Czech Republic, with a wealth of mountains and slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and a variety of other winter sports. During the winter season the area hosts the Europacup in freestyle skiing and SnowJam, a professional snowboarding event. In this little town there are a plenty of hotels (accommodation capacity of 10,000 beds) shops, restaurants, and other sights to see except skiing. In the summer it is also popular place for hiking and mountain biking.
Directions: Bus from Černý Most to Špindlerův Mlýn; train from Hlavní nádraží to Vrchlabí, about 3 hours.
Distance: 110 km north of Prague

Skiing in the Czech Republic has a number of pros, such as the prices, which are still lower than in most parts of the EU, but on the other hand the Czech peaks do not reach such altitudes as in the Alps. One of the other negative points about Czech skiing is the amount of time one must spend in line.
