Antonin Dvorak Museum
This museum is dedicated to the life and work of the composer Antonin Dvořák (1841-1904) - master of the 'New World' symphony. The museum is located in a beautiful baroque mansion built by Kilián Dientzenhofer between 1717 and 1720. In recent years, the museum has been carefully restored. The exhibits, spread over two floors, include autographed scores, photographs, busts and portraits, correspondence with fellow musicians and a number of personal effects including his viola and spectacles. The first floor is often used for concerts.
Location: Villa Amerika, Ke Karlovu 20, New Town; Directions: Metro line C to I.P. Pavlova; Tram # 4,6,16 to I.P. Pavlova.
Open: Apr-Sept 10am-5.30pm Tue-Sun; Oct-Mar 9.30am-5pm Tue-Sun. Mondays closed.
Admission: 50 CZK
