Prague to Dresden - by Train
There are eight direct trains between Prague and Dresden. The journey is quite smooth - and the fastest train runs the distance in just 2 hours and 10 minutes. Ordinary one-way tickets cost 612 CZK (around 22 EUR).
Trains leave from Prague - Hlavni nadrazi, destination, Dresden - Hauptbahnhof (Dresden's Central Railway Station).

Buying tickets online
If you wish to purchase tickets online be warned that some international websites selling tickets do charge an extra booking fee and you might end up paying up to twice as much compared to if you buy the tickets directly from the Czech Railways website.
Alternative: Private transfer by taxi, minibus or coach.
