The entire tube line A will be closed in both directions over Easter because of repairs. The tube will not run from Friday afternoon till Tuesday morning. The reason for this traffic interruption is the repair of railroad switches and replacement of turnout sleepers, said Jiří Štábl, a press agent for the Prague transport company.DPP will ensure alternative transportation during the failure. “Alternative transportation shall be ensured by the selected tram lines, including the line X-A,” the press agent said. The route of the selected bus lines will be extended to the bus stops Hradčanská, Želivského and Strašnická. According to the transport company, the last, equally extensive, lockout two years ago affected about 50,000 passengers.
